Counties See Record Early Voting Numbers

SEBASTIAN COUNTY (KFSM) -- Election officials said on Tuesday (March 1) that a record-breaking number of early voters turned out for this election.

Sebastian County Clerk Sharon Brooks said in 2010, there were about 3,000 people who voted early. In 2014, she said there were about 3,700 early voters. The number of early voters in Sebastian County jumped to 9,600 in the 2016 primary election.

Brooks said there are 71,038 registered voters in the county.

In Benton County, Election Commissioner Russ Anzalone told 5NEWS 20,000 people voted early in this election, which is a record number.
