Fort Smith Police Officer Resigns Following Arrest On Suspicion Of DWI

FORT SMITH (KFSM) — The Fort Smith Police Department announced that officer Carson Addis, 33, was arrested while off-duty at Police Headquarters.

A press release stated that Addis tendered his resignation immediately.

Addis was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving while intoxicated and refusal to submit to breath test.

He was with the police department for 11 years.

Addis was to attend a meeting at the headquarters on Monday (March 1).  He was booked into Sebastian County Detention Center, the release stated.

The investigation is ongoing.
