BENTONVILLE (KFSM) — Officers arrested a student at Bentonville High School Friday (March 11) on suspicion of assault, according to the Bentonville Police Department.
Just before noon police responded to a call from school faculty regarding suspicious activity in the hallway, police said. When faculty and officers approached the male student he became physical, struck an officer and resisted arrest, according to police.
The student is facing misdemeanor charges of second-degree assault, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and second-degree criminal mischief, police said. The student was taken to the Juvenile Detention Center.
Students at the school weren’t in danger and no other students were involved, but students were asked to remain in their classrooms briefly while the student was being escorted from campus, according to school district spokesman Paul Stolt.
