Little Rock Heads Home After Second Round

Little Rock Trojan head home after second round of NCAA Tournament with a 78-61 loss to Iowa State.

DENVER (KFSM) -There was no second half comeback this time around for the Little Rock Trojan who was looking to go to the program’s first ever Sweet 16 in the NCAA tournament. The Trojans fell 78-61 to the Iowa State Cyclones Saturday in the second round.

What seemed like it could have been a reflection of that first round game against Purdue, was anything but. Josh Hagins was held yet again to a mere two first half points. Except this time around he didn’t pour on 29 after the break. Hagins only added six points in the second half.

Roger Woods was UALR’s leading scorer with 19 points, and 10 rebounds. Behind him was Lis Shoshi with 10 points.

The Cyclones advance to their second Sweet 16 in three years behind Georges Niang’s 28 points. Iowa State will play the winner of Virginia/Butler in Chicago next weekend.
