SPRINGDALE (KFSM) — A woman accused of several fraudulent purchases and a vehicular break-in has been arrested.

Whitney Riley, 27, was placed behind bars at the Washington County Jail on suspicion of residential burglary, breaking or entering, theft of property (credit/debit/checkbook) and fraudulent use of a credit/debit card.

Police stated that a victim reported his vehicle had been broken into on Wednesday (March 16) and had several items inside it stolen, including a debit card and checkbook.

Woman Identified As Vehicle Break-In Thief Arrested

Melton was arrested on Friday, and admitted to driving Riley around so she could break in to cars. Melton also said that he and Riley were the suspects in the surveillance footage and had broken into a car and stolen the card and checkbook.

Riley was located and arrested by Springdale Police following Melton’s interview.

According to jail records, she has not had a bond set for given charges and will appear in court on March 28.

She also has a previous contempt of court charge, and her bond for that charge has been listed at $175,000.

Melton was released on a $2,500 bond.
