LATIMER COUNTY, Okla. (KFSM) — A Hackett man died Monday from injuries he received during a single-car accident last Wednesday (March 23).

Brian Keith Jackson, 48, of Hackett, died Monday night (March 28), according to a report by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Jackson was travelling west on US 270 about 10 miles east of Gowen Road around 10:30 p.m. when his vehicle slid off the road to the left, the report states. His vehicle hit a fence and then overturned and struck a utility pole. Jackson, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pinned for about 45 minutes before he was freed by the Wilburton Fire Department.

He was rushed to the McAlester Regional Hospital in critical condition with multiple injuries. He was later transferred to St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, where he died from his injuries.

According to the report, Jackson was traveling too fast for the wet road conditions.
