DANVILLE (KFSM) — Three men have been booked after being arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder.

Sheriff Bill Gilkey stated that Michael Gargis, 28, of Danville, Sean Tyra, 23, of Havana, and Robert McCowan, 19, of Russellville, are expected to be charged with residential burglary and unlawful possession of firearms, along with the murder charge, by Prosecuting Attorney Tom Tatum.

The three suspects are believed to be connected to the death of Clifton Randy Jackson, whose body was discovered at his home near Havana on March 28.

Deputies stated the suspects told investigators that they had attempted to burglarize Jackson’s home.

The sheriff’s department believes that at least two of the suspects were armed at the time of the alleged burglary, and that Jackson did not pose any immediate threat.

Jackson died of a gunshot wound to the head, a release stated.

A $1 million bond has been set for the three suspects.
