BENTON COUNTY (KFSM) — A man was found guilty by jury on two charges Thursday (April 7) after being convicted of rape.

Kevin Lee Reed, 36, had been arrested on suspicion of two counts of rape and one sexual assault in July 2015.

According to court records, Reed was charged in the rape of a 14-year-old girl, who told authorities that Reed had abused her since she was in fourth grade.

In an interview following his arrest, Reed admitted to inappropriately touching the girl, but never to rape.

He was convicted of one rape charge and the sexual assault charge; he was found not guilty of the second rape charge.

Reed received a life sentence for rape and an additional 20 years for sexual assault.

And yet murderers get less, often eligible for parole. I’m confused. If this person has a patterned history (criminal history) of sexual absconding and repeated sexual impropriety charges, I could almost understand his sentencing, but I can’t find any public record of such. She was 14 years old. Early in this past century and throughout the nineteenth century, her father would have likely shot him with buckshot, but I’m not sure he would have got hanged, but then again, I might be wrong. Judge Parker might have did him in, who knows.
