FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) – Arkansas running back Kody Walker suffered a broken right foot in Tuesday’s spring practice and underwent surgery on Wednesday.

Walker rushed for 394 yards and six touchdowns on 90 attempts in 2015. Walker was also granted a sixth year of eligibility due to a medical hardship.

“Unfortunately Kody suffered a broken foot during yesterday’s practice,” Arkansas coach Bret Bielema said in a statement. “It required surgery that went well today and doctors expect a full recovery. It’s a pretty standard foot injury that we’ve dealt with in the past and we expect him to be full-go by June. If anyone knows how to battle adversity it’s Kody Walker.”

Walker is expected to be the Razorbacks’ starting running back for the 2016 season. The senior missed time last season with a broken hand and previously missed two other seasons with injuries.

Arkansas had three players miss extensive time last season due to a broken foot. Receivers Keon Hatcher and Cody Hollister were both lost early in the year while Jonathan Williams missed the entire season as he broke a foot in the preseason.
