FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM)- Arkansas pitcher Dominic Taccolini was named SEC Co-Pitcher of the week Monday after arguably the best performance of his career Friday against Kentucky.
The starting pitching staff has been an issue for the Hogs recently, but judging by this weekend’s performances it seems as though they have got their mojo back on the mound.
In the series opener Friday against Kentucky Taccolini started on the mound and never left. The right-hander threw 10 scoreless innings and matched that with a career-high 10 strikeouts. His performance helped snap Arkansas’s SEC losing streak. The 10 innings that Taccolini remained on the mound was the longest outing by any SEC pitcher this season.
The Diamond Hogs will take on Oklahoma State Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. at Baum Stadium. The last time the two played was back on March 29th when the Cowboys won 5-4.
