LAVACA (KFSM) — Lavaca high school students had a scare early Tuesday morning (April 26) when their school bus crashed along Highway 96.

No students were injured during the accident, according to Lavaca superintendent Steve Rose. There were elementary, middle and high school students on the bus at the time.

The accident happened just after 7 a.m., Rose said. A white pickup truck was also involved in the accident. The truck overturned and slid into a ditch, but that driver was also OK.

Arkansas State Police are investigating the accident. The cause of the accident is still unknown.

“You never want something like this to happen,” said Rose. “We are thankful that all the kids are OK.”
