A 3,000-ton full-scale replica of Noah’s ark is slated to travel all the way from the Netherlands to Brazil this summer.

Dutch carpenter Johan Huibers spent years building the ship, which is a full-scale replica of the one that Noah built in the Book of Genesis. The man built it as a religious attraction through the “Ark of Noah Foundation.”

The ship is 125 meters long, 29 meters wide and seven stories high.

It has been on display in the Netherlands since 2012.

This summer, the ark will be embarking on a 5,000 mile trip to Brazil. After it arrives, it will stay in Brazil for two years, docking at several major cities.

The ark has already attracted hundreds of thousands of visitors.

The goal of the trans-Atlantic visit is to spread Christian teachings, and to raise money to open “hope centers” to help the disadvantaged in the countries they visit.
