SPRINGDALE (KFSM) -- Walmart and the Walmart Foundation announced on Monday (May 9) they will be donating $8 million to the new Arkansas Children's Northwest hospital.
The new Arkansas Children's Northwest hospital will be a division of the Arkansas Children's Hospital.
Kathleen McLaughlin, president of the Walmart Foundation, and Marcy Doderer, president and CEO of ACH, were joined by several children to make the announcement Monday.
The new hospital campus is scheduled to be completed by 2018. The 225,000-square-foot hospital will sit on 37 acres of land located along Interstate-49 between Don Tyson Parkway and Highway 412 across the street from Arvest Ballpark.
The new children's hospital will be let parents get treatment for their children much closer to home. With the new campus in Springdale, 70 percent of Northwest Arkansas residents will be able to reach ACH’s services within 30 minutes or less.
