Student Hit By Car Near Alma High School

ALMA (KFSM) — Crews were on the scene after an Alma High School student was hit by a car Thursday morning (May 12).

Dispatchers said it occurred in front of the high school on Main Street around 8 a.m.

According to Superintendent David Woolly, a 9th grade boy was crossing at a cross walk in front of the school. Woolly said the driver failed to yield and hit the boy as he was crossing the street.

The superintendent told 5NEWS the boy was taken by ambulance to Sparks Hospital in Fort Smith to be treated for minor injuries. He has since been released, according to Woolly.

No word yet on if the driver was cited in the incident.
