Two weeks to the day after resigning as the Fayetteville head football coach for family and personal reasons, Daryl Patton was hired as the Bauxite coach Thursday night.

Daryl Patton TweetPatton replaces Dustin Prescott just a day after the Miners coach resigned. Bauxite is a 4A school in Saline County, the same county Patton lived in as the coach of Bryant before taking the Fayetteville job in 2003. Patton graduated from Byrant in 1986 and coached the Hornets from 1998-2002.

The new Miners coach went 116-43-2 at Fayetteville and won four 7A state championships, including in 2015.

Bauxite went 1-9 in 2015 and have won just 10 games in the past six seasons.
