BELLA VISTA (KFSM) — A woman was grazed by a bullet Tuesday (June 7) after a man entered her Bella Vista home, according to Bella Vista’s police chief.

The shots were fired at a home at 39 Applecross Ln. around 12:30 p.m., Police Chief Ken Farmer said. The man then fled the scene, but was apprehended in Missouri around 4 p.m.

Farmer said the suspect, Michael Doll, 50, of Jasper, Missouri is in custody at the Barton County Sheriff’s Office in Lamar, Missouri.

Cassi Lapp, Bella Vista’s Communications Manager, called the incident a domestic dispute. She said the man and woman did not live together. The woman lived at the home in Bella Vista, but the man lived in Missouri.

The woman called 911 to report Doll, who she said is her ex-husband, was trying to break into her house, according to Farmer. Gunfire could be heard on the phone and the woman told dispatch she had been shot, Farmer said.

Police believe there was an exchange of gunfire, but the woman was treated and released at the scene.
