POCOLA (KFSM) — Police have identified the man who was found dead in his casino hotel room.

Gary Salter, said to be in his late 50s, had not checked out of his hotel room, according to police; his body was discovered at his Choctaw Casino hotel room.

Police said that his car was found in Fort Smith, but had been in the possession of a friend.

An investigation has been opened by the Choctaw Nation Public Safety office after a body was found at a local casino.

The department’s executive director John Hobbs said that the body of a man was found on Monday (June 6).

Hobbs said there is no evidence of a murder, but that there are hints of “suspicious activity” regarding the case.

The body has been taken to the state medical examiner’s office for further investigation.
