BOONE COUNTY (KOLR) — Two men from Harrison died Sunday (June 5) when a bluff ledge they were standing on collapsed over Bull Shoals Lake.

Casey Ruley, 19, died on scene as a result of the 30-foot fall. The body of Paul Andrew Woodruff, 19, was found Monday by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission dive team. The Boone County Sheriff’s Office said he had fallen into the lake.

Witnesses told the sheriff’s office a five-foot section of the bluff collapsed at about 5:30 p.m. near Diamond City in an area commonly known as the Devil’s Backbone.

The sheriff’s office said the trail is a popular destination in the area.
