FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM)- Junior right-handed pitcher Dominic Taccolini was the first Hog to be taken off the board on Saturday, the final day of the MLB draft.  He was selected in the 16th round, No.492 overall, by the Toronto Blue Jays. Arkansas pitcher Zach Jackson was also drafted by the Blue Jays the day before.

Taccoloini was Arkansas’ primary starting pitcher this last season, and even though he hit some rough patches, he was still able to hurl 61 strikeouts, allow 26 walks. His most well-known performance this last season was during the Kentucky game, when threw a complete 10-inning shutout agaist the Wildcats. Notching a career high 10 batters struck out, no walks, and only five hits.

He has until July the 15th to decide if he will sign or return for his senior season.
