CRAWFORD COUNTY (KFSM) -- A Crawford County man was arrested in connection to a home invasion and murder Friday (June 10), according to the Crawford County Sheriff's Office.

Randall Jordan, 35, was arrested after Larry Jones, 59, was taken to a local hospital with head injuries, sheriff's office investigators said Monday. They believe Jones was hit in the head with a wooden stick while he slept at his home on Grand Juniper Road east of Van Buren.

Jones later died at the hospital and while investigators were there they received a call that a family member had Jordan held at gunpoint back at Jones' home, according to the sheriff's office. Investigators said the two knew each other and Jordan had previously stayed at the home.

"He stayed there for a couple of weeks while he got on his feet. He was unemployed but a week or so prior, of what I understand, he was told to leave because he wasn't looking for employment and keeping up his end of the deal," said Crawford County sheriff Ron Brown.

The family member held Jordan until deputies arrived and Jordan was arrested on suspicion of capital murder and burglary, investigators said.

Jordan's bond has been set at $500,000.
