One-Year-Old Rogers Boy Dies After Falling In Elk River

MCDONALD COUNTY, Mo. (KFSM) — A one-year-old boy from Rogers died Wednesday (June 15) after falling into the Elk River Sunday.

Anthony S. Lemus-Peraza was playing near the river about three miles west of Pineville, Missouri when he fell in the water, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol.

He was taken to Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City by medical helicopter, but died several days later.

The child was not wearing a life jacket, according to the highway patrol report.
