DECATUR (KFSM)– Three men are in custody after beating two police officers, according to authorities.

Mario Lee Urquidi, Victor Urquidi and Austin Rife, all of Decatur, have been charged with second-degree battery and resisting arrest.

Decatur Police Sgt. Joe Savage said officers responded to a complaint about a disturbance at a home on the 600 block of Meadow Brook Ct.

After authorities attempted to question the suspects, investigators said the men became combative and begin assaulting the two officers. The two officers were taken to the hospital, but both are reported to be in stable condition after sustaining minor injuries, according to Sgt. Savage.

The suspects are currently being held at the Benton County Jail.

Law enforcement from Benton County, Gentry, Gravette, Decatur and Centerton responded to the incident.

Victor Urquidi and Austin Rife are also charged with obstructing governmental operations and being a minor in possession of alcohol. Several others between the ages of 16 and 20 will face MIPs as well, according to Sgt. Savage.
