FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) — In a unanimous vote, 8-0, the Fayetteville City Council approved a measure to rezone property at I-49 and Wedington to P-1 Institutional.
The approval allows Cross Church Fayetteville to move forward with plans to build a large facility along the interstate.
The proposal to move the church to the location was first announced in 2015. The church’s first request to have the land rezoned was denied, after concerns of the development’s proposed design were brought up.
Cross Church Fayetteville Pastor Nick Floyd tweeted after the rezoning approval, expressing his pleasure in the city council’s decision.
