After waiting nine years for a new novel, Harry Potter fans are celebrating the release of the newest book in Van Buren.
From a costume contest to Harry Potter trivia, fans can celebrate in every way at Chapters on Main.
At 12:01, store owners will open a box with the orders, "Do not open until July 31 at 12:01" printed on the box's tape.
"We're going to tear open the boxes, we'll probably cheer and everything, and have a big line," Co-owner and manager, Christian Westbrook said. "All the people who pre-ordered will get their copies, and I'm expecting to probably sit down, and start reading."
Westbrook said everyone is excited and anxious about the new release from J.K. Rowling.
"The hype is real, that's for sure," Westbrook said. "You can kind of feel it here. Everyone is excited. [The box] is really official looking. We had to sign a bunch of waivers and everything to have them. It's really kind of cool."
Prizes from the contests and trivia competition include gift cards to the bookstore.
Leading up to the party, the bookstore showed Harry Potter movies throughout the day.
The bookstore plans to order more copies of The Cursed Child once they sell their first order.
