FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) -- Summer vacation ended about two weeks early for some students, as students in Fayetteville's continuous learning schools returned to class on Wednesday (Aug. 3).

Fayetteville School District employees are reminding drivers that it's time to start getting used to seeing school buses back on the roads. They are asking people to pay more attention than usual and follow the rules of the road when approaching a school bus.

Once students get to school they'll get a nutritional breakfast. Asbell Elementary principal, Tracy Bratton, said students should come to school with their supply lists filled.

"We have a school supply list that is posted online," Bratton said. "It's at all the local area Walmarts and Target and all of those places, and we also have some churches that have donated school supplies for anyone who doesn't have those."

Other continuous learning schools starting on Wednesday are Happy Hollow and Owl Creek. The rest of the district goes back on Aug. 17.
