ATLANTA — A badly abused infant known as “Baby Dinah” was removed from life support on Monday and her parents now face murder charges, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Dinah Paige Whited, a 5-month-old girl, was hospitalized three months ago with severe injuries. She was 7 weeks old when she was admitted to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston with bleeding on the brain, two broken collar bones and several broken ribs.

The child was removed from life support around 12 p.m. Monday and died a few hours later, according to WSB-TV.

Murder warrants were secured on Tuesday for Jamie Cason Whited and Justin Lee Whited, according to the paper. Both parents said they did not abuse the child.

Before the child was removed from life support, a judge allowed the mother and father to visit the baby one last time.

Last week, Walton County Juvenile Court Judge David Dickinson issued the order to remove “all life support measures, and to allow Dinah Paige Whited to die.”

According to the paper, the judge allowed the visit because both parents agreed to terminate life support and neither have been convicted in this case.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to pay for burial costs.
