FORT SMITH (KFSM) — Community members are planning to wear green Tuesday morning (Aug. 16) while lining the funeral procession route on Rogers Avenue for fallen Deputy Bill Cooper, who was fatally shot in the line of duty last week.

The Fort Smith Board of Realtors planned the Rogers Avenue Salute, asking residents to show up while wearing the green of the Sebastian County Deputies.

The group is asking people to begin lining up at 10 a.m., and the funeral procession should begin around 11:30 a.m.

The funeral procession will travel from the convention center to Third Street, then turn on Garrison Avenue, continuing to Rogers Avenue, and finally will turn south on Greenwood Avenue to Oak Cemetery.

All vehicles must be parked legally in a parking lot or side street, and off the route of the funeral procession.
