Reed, Hammonds to Miss Time After Injuries Suffered On Saturday

Reed was third on the Razorbacks in catches and receiving yards in 2015

FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) - Bret Bielema was hoping to get out of the first scrimmage without major injury and it looks like Arkansas did just that but a pair of offensive weapons will be lost for some time.

Senior receiver Dominique Reed is expected to miss up to the next two weeks after suffering an ankle sprain following a reception in Saturday's scrimmage.

"He's going to be out the rest this week and probably out the most of next week," Bielema said of Reed on Monday morning. "We'll get him back on game week. Nothing from a season long standpoint but he did roll that ankle pretty good so he'll be out for the next week and a half, two weeks."

Reed was third in receptions (28) and yards (535) for the Razorbacks in 2015 and was tied for second on the team with six touchdown catches.

Freshman running back T.J. Hammonds suffered a non-contact injury prior to the scrimmage portion of Saturday's practice and Bielema said he's has a torn menisus. Hammonds is expected to miss the next few weeks and will have his status reassessed when he returns. Bielema did mention that a redshirt season is possible for the Little Rock native.
