Altus Man Dies Following Shooting In Ozark; Three Suspects In Custody

OZARK (KFSM) — An Altus man died Wednesday (Aug. 17) after he was shot in the head four days prior, according to the Ozark Police Department.

Police identified the victim as Cody Ray Duncan, 23.

Officers responded to a report of a man with a gun shot wound to the head on Aug. 13 around 9 p.m. in an area north of 2nd Street in Ozark, police said.

Three suspects were arrested in connection to the shooting, according to police.

Cody Robert Whitten, 29, is facing charges of first-degree battery, tampering with physical evidence and possession of a firearm by certain persons, jail records show. Curtis Wayne Godwin, 22, and Stephanie Lynn Stacy, 19, is facing a charge of hindering apprehension or prosecution, according to jail records.
