Wide Receiver Depth On Display In Hogs Second Scrimmage

Austin Allen Has Five Main Targets

FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM)--After the second and final scrimmage of fall camp, Bret Bielema was pleased with his receiving corps. The head coach referenced the core group of five receivers: fifth year senior Keon Hatcher, seniors Drew Morgan, Cody Hollister, Dominique Reed, and junior Jared Cornelius.

"I think they all have special gifts. Keon has a set of skills that I think are really good. He's big, he's a wide body, he catches it. Drew has a skill set that's different than Jared, who has a skill set that's different than Cody. I thought Cody was big in the red zone in the scrimmage," Bielema said.

The experienced targets continued to develop chemistry with starting quarterback Austin Allen. One of the highlights of the scrimmage came when Allen tossed a touchdown pass to Cornelius, threading the ball through numerous defenders from 30 yards out. What sets this group apart is their versatility. All five receivers have the ability to attack down the field or play shorter out of the slot.

"I wanna take shots. I wanna take my opportunities down the field. But we're an offense that can methodically move the ball down the field, and we got to get ourselves wired into that a little bit," said Bielema.
