Garrett’s Blog: Running Out of Daylight

This morning we had the coolest temperatures we’ve seen since May of this year. Cooler temperatures will continue to become the norm in the coming month as we lose more and more daylight getting closer to the Winter Solstice on December 21st. The Autumnal Equinox or first day of Fall is September 22nd; one month away.

Equinox means equal daylight and equal darkness; usually 12hrs of sunlight and 12hrs of darkness but it really depends on your latitude relative to the Equator as to how much daylight you see at your location.

Between today and one month from now on September 22nd we’ll lose 1-hour and 7-minutes.

We’ll have two full hours less sunlight than we did on July 22nd.
