OZARK (KFSM) — An Ozark police officer saved an infant Monday (August 22), after responding to a call that it was choking.

Officer Jason Cooper arrived at a residence on North Second Street before EMS or first responders, and saw the two-week-old baby was turning blue, according to the police department.

Cooper performed back thrusts on the infant, and shortly after, the baby began crying after some rice cereal came out of its mouth.

The infant was taken to Johnson County Hospital afterward. Police said the infant is doing well.
