Whether you need a pick-me-up at work or just happen to be a latte lover, new research suggests that your espresso habits may actually be linked to your genes.

A study, published in the journal Scientific Reports, found people with a newly identified genetic trait called PDSS2, drank less coffee than those who didn't have the trait.

The author of the study believes the new gene impacts coffee consumption by the speed the caffeine is being metabolized in the body.
