Mumps Cases In NWA Now Up To Nearly 300; Confirmed In 31 Schools

SPRINGDALE (KFSM) — The Arkansas Department of Health reported 297 suspected and confirmed cases of mumps in Northwest Arkansas Thursday (Sept. 22).

The outbreak was first reported Aug. 31 and the health department expects cases to keep multiplying for the next six months.

Cases of mumps have been confirmed in the following schools:

Huntsville School District:

Rogers School District:

  • Birch Kirksey Middle School
  • Grace Hill Elementary School
  • Northside Elementary School
  • Old Wire Road Elementary School
  • Rogers High School
  • Rogers New Technology High School
  • Russell D. Jones Elementary School

Springdale School District:

  • Archer Alternative Learning Center
  • Bayyari Elementary School
  • Bernice Young Elementary School
  • Don Tyson School of Innovation
  • George Elementary School
  • George Junior High School
  • Har-Ber High School
  • Helen Tyson Middle School
  • John Tyson Elementary School
  • Jo Kelly Middle School
  • Knapp Elementary School
  • Knapp Pre-K School
  • Lakeside Junior High School
  • Parson Hills Elementary School
  • Robert E. Lee Elementary School
  • Smith Elementary School
  • Sonora Middle School
