Chaska, MN (CBS) — The 41st Ryder Cup more than lived up to expectations as the United States on Sunday clinched its first crown since 2008 before the day’s singles matches were even completed.

The Americans led by three points entering the day and made quick work of the Europeans despite some early adversity on Sunday.

From the thrilling lead off pairing of Patrick Reed and Rory McIlroy, where Reed won, to a match between Phil Mickelson and Sergio Garcia that saw 19 birdies on the afternoon, it was an impressive showing from both teams.
