FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) — A local investment adviser was named a fellow of the National Association of Business Economics in Atlanta, Ga. on Sept. 12.

Dr. Mary Ann Greenwood founded the investment advisory firm Greenwood & Associates, now Greenwood Gearhart, in 1992. Greenwood Gearhart is now one of the largest independent investment firms in Northwest Arkansas.

The criteria to be considered for selection includes performance of outstanding service as a professional business economist, professional contributions to the field of business economics and contributions to the NABE.

“I’m honored to be recognized as a NABE fellow,” Greenwood said. “Joining such a distinguished group of previous honorees is humbling and a professional accomplishment I’m very proud.”

Greenwood’s philanthropy and business contributions to the region include her involvement in the founding and growth of the annual University of Arkansas Walton College of Business Forecast Luncheon, an annual economic event focused on the global, domestic and regional economies.
