SPRINGDALE (KFSM) --  Springdale is ranked 8th as a small city and 23rd overall on WalletHub's annual review of the fastest growing cities in the country. This number is out of 515 cities.

"We really wanted to invest our time in something as amazing and historic as downtown Springdale,” Kelsey Schacherbaur said.

The Steam opened in downtown Springdale a little over a year ago and assistant manager Kelsey Schacherbaur said the rankings don't surprise her.

"The owner saw more of a growth and renovation happening in downtown Springdale and we saw the greenway coming through and buildings coming back together,” she said.

Vice President of the Springdale Chamber of Commerce Bill Rogers said from 2009 to 2015 Springdale created more than 10,000 jobs which is more than any other city in the state.

“We have a 2.8% unemployment rate, so a lot of people have jobs but to be able to continue to create jobs you have to be able to have that population growth and we`re blessed to have that and we`re extremely blessed to have a robust economy in Springdale,” Rogers said.

Rogers said infrastructure improvements and house construction are keeping up with the growth too.

“Now we`re at the point where we are actively talking to developers, talking to landowners looking for ways that we can assist them in expanding the inventory of homes that there are in Springdale,” he said.

WalletHub factored in several variables like population growth, unemployment rate decrease, household income growth and increase in number of businesses to come up with the rankings.

Springdale is filling up before the election, cause there will be a wall built after the election.
