BENTONVILLE (KFSM)-- Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art is bringing the Truth Booth to Downtown Bentonville. The Truth Booth is a traveling, interactive art piece that will be set up at Lawrence Plaza right next to the 21c Museum Hotel.

The Truth Booth is an inflatable, walk-in booth shaped like a cartoon speech bubble. The word "Truth" is inside the bubble and the idea of the project is that any person can walk in, sit in front of a camera, and record what their truth is.

The project was started by a group of artists called The Cause Collective and the booth is traveling all 50 states and has even been set up in several different countries.

Monica Kumar with Downtown Bentonville Inc. says she thinks what is really valuable to all humans is going to be a common truth. "I'm going to guess that what's going to happen is that a lot of human commonalities are going to come out," Kumar said. "No matter where we live, no matter where we're from and no matter what our experiences look like on the surface."

Once seated inside the booth, people have two minutes to record their opinions and thoughts as they finish the statement: "The truth is...". The video will then go up on the Truth Booth video blog.

"I think it was a bit intimidating, because you go in 'what is the truth?'," said Jill Wagar, who used the booth during her lunch break. "I mean I think that is a rhetorical question, sometimes, and everyone will come to it with a different perspective."

It will be open Tuesday (Oct. 4) and Wednesday (Oct. 5) from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

After experiencing it for herself, Wagar said people should wander down and see it for themselves.

"Come see it. Come see what it's all about," Wagar said. "Whenever we're doing something interesting and collaborative in our country and our community, it's worth people coming out to be able to see what the rage is about and to join the conversation."
