Lady Mounties Show Success Not Limited To Basketball Court

Rogers win academic state championship

ROGERS (KFSM) - Preston Early and his Rogers Lady Mounties basketball program has always been in the mix when it comes to 7A basketball but they've separated themselves off the court.

Rogers earned the 2015-16 7A academic state championship as they had an cumulative GPA of 3.91.

"It means a lot to us as a program," Rogers senior Madison Sandor said. "It looks good on coach Early and it looks good on us just because it shows we have more of a priority than we do on the basketball court."

"We work really hard in the classroom and on the court so it's just really special to use that our hard work has paid off and that we've won it," senior Emma Wisdom said.

"I think it's incredible because it shows that we have more to us than just what we're doing on the court and we're dedicated on and off the court," senior Elise Randels said.

Rogers tips off the 2016-17 season on Nov. 17 as they travel to Gravette.
