Fort Smith Student Prepares To Live Out Dream At Upcoming Band Competition

FORT SMITH (KFSM) -- A local student will live out a dream of his in Fort Smith on Tuesday (Oct. 18).

Nico Larimore, a Southside High School junior, will play his french horn in a competition taking on the final solo all by himself.

"Mentally, my adrenaline is speeding up," Larimore said. "Like, it`s accelerating past a normal interstate speed limit. Because I`m playing in front of people and it`s sort of a first time experience for me."

The regional marching band contest is an opportunity for school bands across the River Valley region to compete against each other.

Larimore said it is his dream to play french horn in front of a large audience and he looks forward to showcasing his talent.

"This means more to me than anything, honestly," Larimore said. "I want to leave the field thinking, wow, I was able to demonstrate my musical talent in front of a huge crowd."
