SEBASTIAN COUNTY (KFSM) — The Sebastian County prosecutor is seeking the death penalty in the case against a man accused of shooting and killing Sebastian County Cpl. Bill Cooper.
In a letter sent to Sebastian County Circuit Judge J. Michael Fitzhugh, Prosecutor Daniel Shue advised he will be seeking the death penalty for Billy Monroe Jones.
Jones is being held at the Sebastian County Detention Center and is facing one count of capital murder, ten counts of attempted capital murder, possession of a firearm and killing or wounding a law enforcement animal, according to court records.
