LITTLE ROCK (KFSM) — Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson said Wednesday (Nov. 9) that he likes where he is in response to a report in the Wall Street Journal that president-elect Donald Trump could be considering him for attorney general.
The WSJ reports the Trump team had Hutchinson and current New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie on a list of possible people to lead the Justice Department.
During a news conference Wednesday, Hutchinson responded with “No… how’s that for clarity?”
His campaign also released the following statement: “Governor Hutchinson is not interested in a position with the new administration. He has stated several times that being Governor is the best job in America, and he has no desire to leave his current post as the state’s chief executive. As such, the Governor will continue to focus on job creation, computer science education and making government more efficient for all Arkansans.”
