FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) — The Fayetteville School District reported a confirmed case of the mumps at Fayetteville High School on Wednesday (Nov. 9), according to a press release from the district.

The Arkansas Department of Health requires students in the same school with a student who has a confirmed case of mumps who have vaccine exemptions for the mumps vaccine or no record of the vaccination to be excluded from school for 26 days from the date of exposure. Students with non-medical exemptions, who receive the mumps vaccine, may return to school immediately.

Mumps cases have also been reported in the Bentonville, Rogers and Springdale School Districts.
