RUSSELLVILLE (KFSM) — An investigation is underway to identify a woman whose body washed ashore outside of Russellville on Saturday (Nov. 19), according to the Pope County Sheriff’s Office.

The death has been ruled a homicide, after the body was sent to the state crime lab, according to a department Facebook post. The sheriff’s department is asking for the public’s help to identify the woman.

The woman is estimated to be between 20-25 years old, about 5’2″ and she weighs about 104 pounds, the release states. She has three tattoos: The word “Angel” tattooed on the right side of her neck, a scorpion tattooed on her lower back, and the phrase “Miracle Baby Ayden” tattooed above the left breast area. The woman also has a scar on her back that indicates she had spinal surgery at one point.

According to a post on the sheriff’s office Facebook page, Pope County EMS was dispatched to Highway 64 West around 2 p.m. Saturday. The person who called said he was fishing when he found a body washed up on the shore.
