A cold front will move into the area on Tuesday with showers and thunderstorms possible. The best chance for rain will be in the evening and after dark; this is also the best chance for some of the stronger storms to develop.

Rain will clear the area overnight with a very slow clearing on Wednesday, some clouds may stick around for much of the day in NW Arkansas.

The highest rain totals will be in SW Arkansas with lesser amounts in NW Arkansas.

The best chance for severe weather will be in Texas with a lower risk farther to the north in our area.

With a steady plume of moisture coming in from the southwest, we’ll have at least a minimal chance for showers all-day on Tuesday; however, the best chance will be in the evening and after dark with the front pushes across the region.

6AM TUESDAY: Expect overcast skies Tuesday morning with temperatures warmer than the last few days in the 40s and 50s.

8PM TUESDAY: This is the best chance for showers and storms. Notice how the storms are oriented from the southwest to the northeast. The high rain totals will likely be to the south of our area.

Rain totals in SW Arkansas could be as high as 1″ while in NW Arkansas it will be far less and likely less than 1/4″ in most locations.
