BENTON COUNTY (KFSM) — The Benton County Sheriff’s Office released information Tuesday (Nov. 22) about an accidental shooting that happened just outside Bentonville last week.

A man shot and killed his friend Wednesday (Nov. 16) near Punkin Hollow and Miller Church Roads where the men hunt every year, according to the sheriff’s office.

The victim, Jeffery Millstead, 54, of Louisana was walking in front of the other man with a bag of corn over his shoulders, according to the sheriff’s office. The friend was using his rifle to clear his way when the gun went off striking and killing Millstead, according to the sheriff’s office.
