FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) – Mike Anderson has been waiting for his depth to take charge in a game this fall and that’s exactly what happened Tuesday night against Houston.

Dusty Hannahs came off the bench and poured in 17 points on 6-of-11 shooting while Arkansas outscored the Cougars by 13 points in the second half as the Razorbacks pulled away for an 84-72 win at Bud Walton Arena.

Daryl Macon also finished with 17 points for Arkansas, including a rare four-point play, while Moses Kingsley added 14 points and nine rebounds as the Razorbacks improved to 7-1.

Houston, despite a thin bench and foul trouble, was able to trade blows with Arkansas thanks to a huge night from Rob Gray Jr. as he had a game high 22 points but the lack of depth caught up with the Cougars (6-2). Four players accounted for 61 of Houston’s 72 points while the nation’s leading 3-point shooting team was just 8-of-22 from long distance, well below their 46 percent average entering the game.

Dustin Thomas finished with 11 points for the Hogs while Anton Beard added nine off the bench.

The Razorbacks are back on the court Saturday as they host North Florida at 4:30 inside Bud Walton Arena. Arkansas defeated the Ospreys 97-72 last December.
