VAN BUREN (KFSM)- With more than 100,000 lights on display, the Hodo house in Van Buren has been a long time favorite for people to come and see the lights for the holidays.

"We just like giving back to the area," homeowner, Richard Hodo said. "We say this is our Christmas card back to Van Buren and the surrounding area and we just get a lot of enjoyment out of it and seeing the smiles on the faces."

For 22 years, the Hodo's have been decorating their home with lights for the holidays.

"This is really what kind of keeps us going," Hodo said. "They say this is what starts our Christmas. It's just what everybody likes and we love giving back and it's just really nice."

Thousands of cars drive by each year.

"Just turn your lights off and turn your radio to 105.5 and then the music and the lights are all synchronized and it's just awesome," Hodo said.

Some people stop by every year and for others, it is their first time.

"It's the first time we've seen them and they're great," George Willhite said. "We like the music with them and everything."

Even Santa Claus enjoys his nights at the Hodo house.

"Seeing the joy and the hope of everybody's smiles, it just fills me with that much more joy and hope," Claus said.

Hodo said he plans on giving out more than 15,000 candy canes this year.

The light display will be open until December 27 at 1205 Woodland Creek Circle in Van Buren.
