JOHNSON COUNTY (KFSM) — County authorities are offering amnesty to residents with warrants while helping those in need.

Those at Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, Clarksville Police Department and Johnson County District Court are collaborating in a warrant amnesty program between Monday, Dec. 12 and Saturday, Dec. 31.

Only people who have misdemeanor warrants issued will be allowed to participate in the program. Those who turn themselves in will be booked and released without having to post bond.

A new court date will be issued and those who take part will no longer have a warrant out for their arrest.

Authorities are not only assisting those who are wanted on warrants, but they’re assisting those in need by asking that a nonperishable food item or coat be donated. Participants are asked to bring the items to either agency. The collected items will be donated to an outreach program.

Anyone who thinks they may have a warrant out for their arrest may verify that by calling the two law enforcement agencies.
