OWASSO, Okla. - Two people in Oklahoma have been arrested in what nurses described as "the worst case of child abuse they had seen."

On Saturday, the parents, 25-year-old Kevin Fowler and 24-year-old Aislyn Miller, were arrested on child abuse charges.

Police in Owasso, Okla. were called to a local urgent care Friday evening to investigate reports of child abuse.

Kevin Fowler and Aislyn Miller are seen in booking photos.

When authorities arrived, nurses were working on two victims, who were described as twin infants, the Tulsa World reports.

According to KJRH, officers said a nurse told them they saw a maggot crawl out of one of the victim's genitals.

The nurse also reported finding feces in one of the infant's ears and said the children looked like skeletons.

The infants were both suffering from bed sores and severe diaper rash, the Tulsa World reports.

Miller reportedly told police she knew the twin infants were in bad condition, but said that she and Fowler are "new parents" and she didn't have any experience taking care of babies, the Tulsa World reports.

Both were jailed and held on $100,000, according to the newspaper.

The future will hold that a responsible society will have in place testing (IQ) along with financial eligibility before procreation can occur. Instant sterilization should be in store for these two no doubt. The sadness of this disparity and horrific human deprivation. How ashamed we see this in modern times. Both need reeducated and not allowed to reproduce until they can prove responsible.

The problem I see with that is what is an acceptable and a non-acceptable IQ and who determines that? I also question the idea of instant sterilization. I do not believe in the practice. Also, who makes the determination of who gets sterilized and why?

I agree with you, what an excuse, not to care for their babies, no one knows how to be a parent, but anyone with common sense knows that a baby needs fed and changed… they knew they were inflicting abuse on these babies….where were other people that may of seen these kids, if they were in a skeleton state , that is horrible
